Solicitor

George Sten & Co was established in 1967 and is one of the city’s most reputable criminal law firms. We have an established client base which deals with all aspects of criminal law and have handled many of the State’s most high profile cases.

We are seeking a solicitor with a minimum 2 years of post-admission experience in criminal law. The ideal candidate will be confident in the autonomous conduct of matters at all stages and management of a busy and varied workload. They will be an adept legal researcher and be up to date will all relevant legislation. They will have the ability to develop strong relationships with clients and possess exceptional drafting and communication skills. Additionally, they will provide general assistance to the Principal Solicitor with over 35 years of experience.

The Role/Key Responsibilities

- Independent conduct of court matters including summary hearings and instructing Counsel at trial

- File management

- Legal research

- Liaising with clients and Counsel

- Drafting correspondence

- Weekly team meetings
