Our Mt Kelly Operations (Lady Annie mine), located approximately 120km north-northwest of Mount Isa, has been an operational copper mine for over 10 years. We are currently seeking skilled and safety-focused Production Pit Technician to join our team and contribute to the growing success of our processing operations., * Follow the supervision and guidance of Technical Services Manager, Geologists, Engineers and Surveyors to carry out site support tasks in an efficient and safe manner.

• Perform field-based geological sampling and basic logging in active mining pits.
• Mark up ore shapes in the pit.
• Sample dispatch and reporting.
• Ensure accurate and timely collection and entry of geological data into company registers and spreadsheets.
• Keep vehicles and work areas tidy and efficiently organised for operational activities.
• Manage and maintain sampling equipment and materials.
• Pre-emptively communicate to prepare upcoming work areas for activities.

About The Candidate

We are looking for reliable, hardworking individuals who work well in a team, take pride in their work, and are committed to maintaining a safe working environment., * Ability to operate to safety standards set and mitigate risk

• Good written and oral communication skills
• Good comprehension skills to follow written SOP's and verbal instruction.
• Strong attention to detail and meticulous data recording habits.
• Proactive team player with a positive, can-do attitude
• Able to work in a small team in a remote area
• Possess basic computer skills and ability to use basic Microsoft Office software
• Full working rights in Australia
• The ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol test
• Familiar with safe operating practises in mining
• Previous experience in a similar role within mining or exploration
• Familiarity or experience with sampling, sample QAQC and despatch
• Familiarity with basic core mark-up, core cutting etc
• A first aid certificate
• Licenced and experience operating a forklift
