CNC Machine Operator Required | Specialist Metal Fabrication | Upper North Shore | $40 – $50 Per Hour + Super ($85K – $105K + Super) | Full-Time
About The Company
Our client is an established and highly regarded specialist contracto r operating across metal fabrication, roofing, cladding and complex building projects throughout NSW.
The business manages projects from design and engineering through to CNC manufacturing, fabrication, prefabrication and installation, working across a diverse range of high-profile commercial, hospitality, education, heritage, government and major construction projects.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are now looking for an experienced CNC Machine Operator to join their manufacturing team based on Sydney's Upper North Shore.
About The Role
This is a hands-on CNC manufacturing position working within a specialist metal fabrication environment.
You will be responsible for operating CNC machinery to accurately process sheet metal and other materials in accordance with technical drawings, specifications and production requirements.
The role would suit someone who enjoys working with machinery, technical drawings and precision fabrication, and who wants to build their experience within a technically advanced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machinery including laser cutting and turret punch machinery
- Set up machines and prepare materials for production
- Load and unload sheet-metal materials safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret technical drawings, shop drawings and fabrication details
- Manufacture components accurately to specified dimensions and tolerances
- Monitor machine operation and production quality
- Conduct measurements and quality checks throughout the manufacturing process
- Identify and report any production, quality or machine issues
- Work closely with CNC programmers, fabricators and production staff
- Assist with CNC programming, nesting and machine setup where required
- Process a variety of metals including aluminium, copper, zinc, stainless steel and other sheet-metal products
- Assist with brake press operations and general sheet-metal fabrication when required
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe manufacturing environment
- Follow all company WHS and quality procedures
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience operating CNC machinery within a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Experience with CNC laser, turret punch or similar machinery
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong understanding of sheet-metal processing and fabrication
- Good measuring and quality-control skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider production team
- A strong commitment to safety and quality
- Reliable attendance and a positive attitude

- CAD/CAM systems
- CNC programming

- G-code
- Precision sheet-metal fabrication
- Aluminium, copper, zinc or stainless-steel fabrication
- Specialist metal fabrication
