A leading global defence and technology company is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead delivery of a major maritime program. Reporting to the Program Manager, you'll take full ownership of project outcomes across time, cost and quality, leading project teams and managing stakeholder relationships across a complex, high value program.

About the Role

As Senior Project Manager, you'll be responsible for the successful planning and delivery of the program, leading project teams, managing resources, communicating with stakeholders and mitigating risk across all phases of delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all project activities and risks to ensure achievement of project objectives and milestones
  • Lead a project team of engineers, technicians and project support staff, coordinating delivery to time, cost and quality (TCQ) targets while generating revenue
  • Conduct regular project performance reviews to monitor progress and keep delivery on track
  • Develop costings, proposals and plans for Contract Change Proposals (CCPs)
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Service and other internal functions to generate value for customers
  • Build and continually strengthen relationships with internal and external stakeholders, customers and suppliers
  • Manage customer relations across information sharing, deliveries, project reviews, contract amendments and claims
  • Drive results by demonstrating initiative, broad perspective, pragmatism and persistence

Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record delivering projects valued at $10M or more
  • Exposure to Earned Value Management (EVM) methods
  • Experience leading project teams of 15 or more staff
  • Strong capability across project organisation management, planning, monitoring and control
  • Skilled in risk management, IP management and contract management, including change management
  • Experience in subcontractor management, including subcontract definition and head contract alignment
  • Strong financial management, issue management and configuration management skills
  • Confident project reporting and stakeholder communication skills
  • Commitment to compliance with corporate processes and procedures, and to promoting growth within the contract

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering or similar discipline
  • Recognised Project Management Practitioner credential

Requirements

  • Australian citizenship, with eligibility to obtain and hold an Australian NV1 security clearance
