A highly regarded engineering consultancy with an established presence across the eastern seaboard is looking for an accomplished Principal Structural Engineer to work closely with the QLD Manager and become one of the key technical and leadership figures within its Brisbane operation.

This is a senior appointment for someone who has already established their credibility within the building structures market and is now looking for greater influence across projects, people, clients and the continued growth of the business.

The projects are substantial and technically challenging, including:

• High-rise residential and mixed-use developments

• Major commercial buildings

• Hospitals and healthcare facilities

• Educational and institutional projects

• Aged care developments

• Complex multidisciplinary building projects

You will remain close to the engineering, but your contribution will extend considerably beyond technical design.

Working alongside the QLD Manager, you will help provide the leadership and direction required to successfully deliver major projects while continuing to strengthen the consultancy's position within the QLD market.

• Technical leadership across major structural projects

• Providing design direction and resolving complex engineering issues

• Leading projects from concept through design and construction

• Reviewing designs and maintaining high technical standards

• Managing project programmes, resources and deliverables

• Developing and mentoring Senior and intermediate Structural Engineers

• Building strong relationships with architects, developers and other key clients

• Identifying and developing future project opportunities

• Supporting tenders, proposals and business development

• Working closely with the QLD Manager on the continued growth of the Brisbane operation

We are particularly interested in someone who understands both the technical and commercial sides of consulting engineering.

You should be comfortable walking into a client meeting, leading a major design discussion, guiding a team through a difficult technical problem and ensuring projects remain commercially and technically on track.

You may already be operating at Principal level, or perhaps you are a strong Associate who has reached the ceiling within your current organisation and is ready for considerably greater responsibility.

Either way, you will have established Australian consultancy experience across substantial building structures and a reputation for being someone clients and engineers trust.
