About the role
We are seeking an experienced financial policy officer to join Parbery as a Manager or Senior Manager with experience in financial advisory and financial management, working within a consulting environment, with Defence, Defence Industry, and Australian Federal Government.
As a member of the Parbery consulting team, you will be engaged in client delivery in your area of expertise and support the growth and sustainability of the business through assisting in business development, assisting in the professional development of your team and contributing to the growth of the business.
Your client work will support the delivery of strategic initiatives, policy reform, governance activities, business transformation programs or operational improvement projects in Defence, Defence Industry, and/or the Australian Federal Government.
This role requires a highly collaborative professional who can navigate complex environments, deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes, and manage multiple priorities across both client engagements and Parbery.
Key responsibilities in delivering for Parbery clients
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading and delivering work packages, projects, programs, or reform initiatives
- Developing implementation plans, delivery roadmaps and project schedules
- Coordinating activities, dependencies, risks and milestones across multiple stakeholders
- Undertaking analysis of existing policies, processes, governance frameworks and operating models
- Identifying gaps, risks and opportunities for improvement
- Designing and implementing future-state operating models, governance arrangements and business processes
- Developing and reviewing policies, procedures, delegations, frameworks and supporting documentation
- Preparing briefings, executive papers, reports, submissions and decision-making materials
- Facilitating stakeholder engagement, consultation workshops and governance forums
- Maintaining project governance artefacts, including risk, issue and dependency registers
- Providing specialist advice and support to business areas and project teams
- Supporting implementation, transition, change management and knowledge transfer activities
- Monitoring and reporting on project progress, risks, issues and deliverables
Essential experience and qualifications
We are seeking candidates with demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Policy development and implementation
- Governance, risk and compliance
- Business transformation and organisational reform
- Program and project management
- Operating model design and implementation
- Strategic planning and organisational improvement
- Government administration and public sector operations
- Stakeholder engagement and facilitation
- Development of executive-level documentation and briefing materials
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, finance or a related discipline
- Professional certifications or memberships relevant to the role will be highly regarded

- Existing security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one
