We have a 12-month contract available for a motivated team player with a passion for farming!
What you’ll be doing
- Work across a range of North East Water farm operations throughout the region.
- Support the Team Leader with livestock handling, production and breeding.
- Operate irrigation systems to manage crop use and irrigate our recycled water.
- Work in all parts of fodder production, including harvesting and loading.
- Site maintenance including weed spraying and pest control, and fencing.
This role is a full-time opportunity for 12 months, including a monthly RDO and flexible work options available.
Key Selection Criteria
- Farm hand or agriculture experience including animal welfare, farm safety, tractor operation and chemical handling is desirable, but not essential.
- A passion for farming and sustainable practices with a keen interest to learn.
- Driver’s licence and willingness to gain licencing and competence for a range of courses and training relevant to the role including an agricultural chemical user permit.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own time while also contributing to a small team.

Position Information
- Salary: $73,189 to $84,593 per year plus 12% super and over $3,030 of allowances per year.
- Location: Primarily based at our Wangaratta farm.
- Hours: General working hours for this position are 7:30am and 4pm (Monday to Friday) with an earlier start and finish during summer.
- Employment Type: Full time, limited tenure for 12 months including a monthly RDO and flexible work options (such as a 9-day fortnight).
- Pre-employment checks: Successful applicants will be required to undertake pre-employment checks including a police check and pre-employment medical and functional testing (paid and organised by NEW).
