IBM Mainframe JCL, Output and Print Tools SME

Kestrel Eight has partnered with a global enterprise technology vendor to deliver a large-scale mainframe tooling modernisation program for a major Australian Government client. We are looking for a broad z/OS operations specialist to lead this stream of the program.

The opportunity

You will lead the migration of the client’s JCL validation, output management, performance diagnostics and print tooling to a modern IBM enterprise platform. This role spans several smaller, related toolsets rather than one large suite, so breadth across z/OS operations matters more here than depth in any single product.

What you will do

  • Validate technical requirements across JCL, output, performance diagnostics and print tooling.
  • Design and build the migration and deployment approach for each tool.
  • Execute migration and deployment.
  • Support test planning and execution.
  • Train client operations staff on the new tooling.

What you will bring

  • Broad z/OS operations background covering at least two of: JCL validation tooling, output and report management, application performance diagnostics, print and spool management.
  • Experience with at least one live tool migration or conversion in this space.
  • Current NV1 (or above) security clearance and Australian citizenship.

Well Regarded

  • Enterprise content or output management platform implementation experience.
  • Mainframe application performance analysis tooling experience.
