Head of Pricing - Personal Lines

Role Description

The Head of role will lead the end-to-end pricing of the company’s personal lines products. To be successful in this role, the Head of Pricing should have solid technical skills and an ability to lead a technical team.

Ultimately, the Head of Pricing will lead technical pricing to enhance profitability, optimise market performance, and proactively mitigate financial risks. This role can be based in Brisbane or Sydney.

You will need:

• Qualified fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIAA or equivalent)
• 15+ years general insurance industry experience, with a strong focus on pricing strategy,
• advanced analytics, and leading projects.
• Proven analytical, critical thinking, and complex problem-solving capability, particularly in identifying new opportunities and addressing challenges within pricing contexts.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a meticulous approach to data integrity, model development, and project execution, ensuring accuracy and precision in all deliverables.
• Clear understanding of statistical modelling techniques, and, in particular, predictive modelling approaches (e.g. GLMs).
• Strong risk awareness and experience in integrating risk management principles into analytical methodologies and project frameworks.
• Expert in advanced statistical programming languages and tools (e.g., SQL, Python) for model development, data manipulation, and automation. Experience with specialised pricing software (e.g., Earnix, Radar).
