Program Coordinator (Social Impact, Education Sector)

Ripple Opportunities is working with the Snow Foundation to help them find their next Program Coordinator. Could it be you?

Work with a bigger goal: In this role, you’ll sit inside the Youth portfolio; helping progress ambitious national and ACT-focused work across education. From curriculum reform and teacher education to school leadership and equity, the role will also support emerging work on digital and gambling harm. It’s a front-row seat to how philanthropy can help shift systems, convene the right people and get good ideas moving.

Impact in action: In 2025 alone, the Snow Foundation invested almost $16M across 196 grants to partners - strengthening community organisations, elevating advocacy movements and backing 30+ social change leaders in the Snow Entrepreneurs program. Snow’s philanthropy goes beyond giving money; they add value through advice, skills, research, advocacy and capital works. Relationships are at the heart of everything they do.

We know you’re not just a Program Coordinator. You’re part organiser, part researcher, part writer and part trusted right hand, with a knack for taking in a lot, finding the signal and working out what needs to happen next. You can connect the dots between research, relationships, meetings and follow-through, then turn that into clear briefings, smart questions, useful introductions and well-timed action. In this role, you’ll use that muscle to help the Youth portfolio make thoughtful decisions and build momentum across.

Your week: One week you’re in an education meeting with stakeholders turning a big conversation into clear actions, introductions and a sharp follow-up; the next, you’re preparing for a board meeting, helping coordinate funding guidelines or getting ahead of a stakeholder session on an issue like gambling harm. You’ll move between research, briefings, relationships and the practical detail that sits behind them - staying close to the substance and making sure the Executive Director has the right information, people and next steps at hand.

Your style: You're the kind of person who gets a kick out of knowing which three things can't be allowed to drift, and leaves a meeting with the actions already taking shape. In the room, you're listening for the bit underneath - what's actually decided, what's still unresolved, who needs to be looped in. You probably have a system too: a spreadsheet with top-notch colour coding, a beautifully kept project board, or a calendar that keeps the week from turning into Tetris. You don't stop at the headline; you'll follow the report into the footnotes and find the detail.

What you bring: You've spent the past few years being the person who can take a messy brief, a lot of moving parts and a room full of different perspectives, then turn it into something clear and organised. Maybe that's been in professional services, a think tank, a not-for-profit or somewhere else entirely. People trust you to get the details right. What matters most is the transferable muscle: sharp judgement, genuine curiosity and the confidence to take ownership without needing everything mapped out for you.

The detail: Part-time, 3-4 days a week, with flexibility in how those hours are shaped. Canberra-based, on-site role working closely with the Executive Director. Competitive salary. Full, permanent working rights in Australia required. Please note: The internal title for this role is Program Associate (refer to PD attached).

What's involved:

50% Program, Research & Portfolio Support

Get inside the substance of Snow’s education work. You’ll organise and actively participate in meetings, workshops and online seminars with the Executive Director; undertake research; capture key notes; track actions, deadlines and follow-ups; manage portfolio correspondence; and bring a critical, informed eye to the work as it develops.

30% Briefings, Writing & Follow-through

Turn complex work into clear communications. You’ll draft letters, grant agreements, briefing notes, board papers and partner emails, and work with Snow’s Communications Team to make sure briefs and content are delivered accurately and on time.

20% Stakeholders, Convenings & Foundation Support

You’ll help bring people and logistics together by supporting stakeholder meetings, research initiatives and events as needed, liaising with partners, speakers, suppliers and internal stakeholders. You’ll also pitch in across the broader Youth portfolio as the role grows.
