The Role
As the principal leader for our Curragh site, you will provide leadership, coaching and support to supervisors and operational personnel across leadership, operations, health and safety, security, compliance, asset management and cost performance. You will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient delivery of customer requirements while meeting business objectives.
Reporting to the General Manager - Coal Operations, you will lead a team of direct reports and a large operational workforce, working closely with customers and internal stakeholders to drive operational excellence, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
Success in this role will come from your ability to balance customer expectations, operational capability and commercial outcomes while fostering a culture of Zero Harm and high performance.
- Lead site operations to ensure compliance with HSE standards, policies and regulatory requirements
- Coach, develop and support operational teams to deliver a high-performance culture
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular engagement and collaboration
- Ensure delivery of products and services in line with contractual obligations
- Drive operational performance, profitability and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with engineering, reliability and asset management teams to optimise site performance
What you’ll bring
- You must be committed to positively contributing to our safe, inclusive and high-performance culture
- Operational leadership experience with a strong focus on safety, compliance and people leadership
- Blasting background with knowledge of drill and blast techniques and methodologies
- Current QLD Shotfirer Licence, S123 & G2 qualifications and QLD Explosive Security Clearance
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and customer relationship management skills
- Tertiary qualification in Mining, Engineering or a related discipline preferred
