About the job

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Infrastructure Performance Analyst to join SA Water's Sustainable Infrastructure business group.

Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure Knowledge, you'll provide performance reporting, analytics and data-driven insights that support the delivery of major capital infrastructure programs across South Australia.

Working at the intersection of business intelligence, infrastructure planning and strategic decision-making, you'll develop Power BI reporting solutions, deliver advanced analytics and forecasting, improve data quality and governance, and provide trusted insights that influence investment, risk and service delivery outcomes.

You're an experienced analytics professional with a passion for turning data into actionable insights. You combine strong technical capability with excellent stakeholder engagement skills and enjoy partnering with leaders to solve complex business challenges.

You're naturally curious, solutions-focused and comfortable working with large and complex data sets. Most importantly, you're motivated by using data to influence decisions and improve business outcomes.

About Sustainable Infrastructure

The Sustainable Infrastructure business group plans, designs and delivers the critical water and wastewater infrastructure that supports communities across South Australia, now and into the future.

Working in this team means shaping long‑term solutions, from designing and upgrading assets to embedding sustainability and resilience into major capital programs. You’ll be part of a collaborative, future‑focused team doing work that builds and maintains a reliable and sustainable water system for generations to come.

Key responsibilities for the role will include

  • Developing and maintaining executive, operational and strategic reporting solutions using Microsoft Power BI.
  • Delivering timely and accurate performance reporting, dashboards and analytical insights for infrastructure programs and portfolios.
  • Building forecasting models and predictive analytics that support infrastructure planning and decision-making.
  • Identifying opportunities to leverage automation, machine learning and AI to improve reporting and business outcomes.
  • Driving data quality improvements and supporting information management initiatives.
  • Providing expert advice on reporting, analytics and infrastructure information.
  • Partnering with stakeholders across the business to improve reporting capability and foster data-driven decision-making.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reporting maturity, governance and business intelligence capability.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to the Infrastructure Performance Analyst and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Qualifications in Business Intelligence, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing reporting and analytics solutions using Power BI.
  • Strong SQL capability and experience working with complex datasets and multiple data sources.
  • Experience in data modelling, information management and process automation.
  • Well-developed analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python and exposure to predictive analytics will be highly regarded.
