Site Manager – Adelaide SA

Location: Adelaide, South Australia

About the Role

Talent Success is seeking an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of projects across Adelaide and surrounding South Australian sites.

This is a hands-on site leadership position responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule and to the required quality standards.

You will coordinate trades, subcontractors, labour, materials and site activities while working closely with Project Managers, clients and other project stakeholders.

We are looking for a confident Site Manager who can take ownership of the site, drive productivity, maintain high WHS standards and proactively resolve issues to keep projects moving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day site operations and project activities
  • Supervise and coordinate trades, subcontractors and site personnel
  • Manage daily and weekly site programmes and sequencing of works
  • Monitor project progress against construction programmes and milestones
  • Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications and project requirements
  • Coordinate labour, materials, plant, equipment and site deliveries
  • Conduct daily pre-starts, toolbox talks and site coordination meetings
  • Liaise with Project Managers, clients, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Identify potential programme delays, resource issues and site risks
  • Resolve site issues quickly to minimise disruption and delays
  • Coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors working across the site
  • Monitor workmanship and maintain project quality standards
  • Manage defects, rectification works and quality issues
  • Maintain accurate site diaries, reports and project documentation
  • Assist with variations, scope changes and project reporting
  • Manage site access, deliveries, housekeeping and security
  • Drive projects through construction, practical completion and handover

WHS & Compliance

The Site Manager will play a key leadership role in maintaining a strong safety culture across all site activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure compliance with South Australian WHS legislation, project safety requirements and company procedures
  • Conduct and participate in site safety inspections, toolbox talks and pre-start meetings
  • Ensure SWMS, permits and relevant site documentation are completed and maintained
  • Monitor subcontractor and worker compliance
  • Identify hazards and ensure appropriate controls are implemented
  • Manage and report incidents, near misses and corrective actions
  • Ensure workers have appropriate licences, tickets, inductions and competencies
  • Maintain accurate WHS and compliance records

About You

To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Site Manager, Site Supervisor or Senior Site Supervisor
  • Strong commercial construction or project-site experience
  • Proven ability to manage trades, subcontractors and site personnel
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and programme management
  • Excellent understanding of WHS requirements and Australian construction standards
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications
  • Strong leadership and people-management capabilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems in a fast-paced site environment
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Competency with Microsoft Office and electronic site/project management systems
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, productivity and project delivery

Essential Requirements

  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Current Australian Federal Police (AFP) National Police Check, or ability to obtain one
  • Current Construction Industry White Card
  • Current Australian driver's licence
  • Relevant construction, trade, building or site-management qualifications highly regarded
  • Ability to work full-time on site across Adelaide and South Australian project locations
