Social Worker - Acute Mental Health

  • Permanent full-time | 5 weeks annual leave + monthly day off included

About the role

As the Grade 3 Social Worker, you will provide a range of specialist social work interventions to mental health consumers, supporting individuals to achieve the highest level of independent functioning, successful community integration, and improved quality of life outcomes. Through the promotion of recovery-oriented practice and effective service coordination, you will ensure consumers remain at the centre of service delivery and receive a timely, coordinated response to their health and social needs. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to consumer and carer-centred practice, contributing to positive recovery outcomes and high-quality care.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • A Social Work qualification recognised by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) for membership.
  • Demonstrated experience providing social work assessments and interventions within mental health settings.
  • Strong knowledge of recovery-oriented practice and a commitment to working collaboratively with consumers and carers to support personal recovery goals.
  • Experience supporting consumers and carers across community and/or inpatient mental health services.
  • Sound understanding of contemporary, evidence-based mental health practices and relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act.
