We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Hydraulic Fitter to join our growing Rydalmere workshop team. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this hands-on role is responsible for the installation, servicing, repair and maintenance of PALFINGER Cranes, Hookloaders and Tail Lifts. Working closely with the workshop and service teams, you will ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Perform servicing, repairs and maintenance on PALFINGER equipment
Diagnose and repair hydraulic, mechanical and associated system faults
Install and commission cranes, hookloaders and tail lifts
Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical drawings
Assemble hydraulic components including pumps, valves, cylinders and hoses
Conduct inspections and identify repair requirements
Complete preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing activities
Support breakdown and warranty repair activities as required
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with PALFINGER quality standards
Maintain accurate service records and job documentation
Work collaboratively with workshop and service personnel to achieve customer delivery targets
Promote and maintain a strong safety culture at all times
About You
You will be a qualified tradesperson with strong hydraulic and mechanical aptitude, ideally gained within the heavy vehicle, transport equipment, manufacturing or mobile equipment industries.
To be successful, you will have:
Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Diesel Fitter or similar
Experience working with hydraulic systems and associated components
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Ability to interpret hydraulic and engineering drawings
Experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment or mobile machinery
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to workplace safety
Current driver's licence
