About The Role
The Materials Coordinator plays a critical role in keeping Daunia moving by ensuring the right materials, components and consumables are available when needed. Working closely with Maintenance, Operations, Supply and vendors, you will coordinate critical materials, manage urgent freight, monitor inventory and respond quickly to changing operational priorities.
You will use your knowledge of site requirements and inventory performance to minimise material-related delays, support equipment availability and identify opportunities to improve how materials are managed across the operation. This is a high paced role where strong coordination, problem-solving and a proactive approach are essential to supporting safe, reliable and productive mining operations.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate and expedite critical materials to meet short-term maintenance and operational requirements.
- Manage urgent and special freight requirements, including air freight and hotshot deliveries, while identifying opportunities to improve cost and efficiency.
- Analyse inventory consumption, stock movements and usage trends to optimise holdings and reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
- Monitor and report key warehouse, inventory and service KPIs, providing insights to improve operational performance.
- Track warehouse returns and identify opportunities to improve ordering, usage and inventory practices.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through timely system updates, reconciliations and effective inventory management.
What You'll Bring
- Strong inventory analytics experience with a strategic, continuous improvement mindset.
- Demonstrated supply chain expertise, including KPI and MIFOT performance reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills and extensive ERP experience, preferably SAP.
- Strong vendor and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across site.
- Experience managing inventory, including repairable and rotable components, within mining, heavy industry or a similar environment.
- Strong planning, prioritisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced operational environment.
