About The Role
The Assets and Operations Support Officer play a key role in supporting the effective operation of AMSANT's people, facilities, fleet and technology resources across the Northern Territory.
The position coordinates day-to-day asset, fleet, facilities and ICT support functions to ensure staff have access to safe, reliable and fit-for-purpose workplaces, equipment and technology required to deliver services to AMSANT’s members.
Working collaboratively with staff, contractors and service providers, the role supports facility maintenance and repairs, fleet administration, asset management, ICT logistics, workplace health and safety activities and general administrative and office management functions.
Through a proactive and responsive approach, the position contributes to organisational efficiency, business continuity and a positive workplace experience for staff.
Responsibilities
- Fleet management
- Coordinate vehicle leases, servicing, insurance, registration, acquisition, disposal and relocations if required;
- Maintain fleet database and booking system;
- Manage supplier relationships and incident reporting;
- Maintain and support the Navman vehicle system (or any alternative system procured by AMSANT);
- Ensure vehicle compliance with all WHS policies, including that all emergency equipment such as satellite phones, emergency beacons and satellite internet services, jacks, First Aid kits etc are available and operational at all times; and
- Provide user support and on the job training in using the above listed items
- Facilities and property management
- Manage repairs and maintenance activities;
- Assist Finance to manage AMSANT insurance coverage;
- Oversee building leases and lessor and contractor relationships;
- Ensure all AMSANT office facilities are adequately equipped and support effective service delivery;
- Maintain “Portable and Attractive” assets register for identified asset classes with a value of less than $5,000 per item; and
- Manage the operation of AMSANT car parks.
- Utilities and ICT
- Monitor and manage utility contracts and performance;
- Liaise with service providers re ICT purchases and replacement as per operational requirements;
- Coordinate ICT supports with external providers, eg the delivery and installation of equipment; on-site support visits, maintenance down times etc;
- Manage the leasing and operations of peripherals including printers and multi-function devices, including toner and paper management; and
- Where required, manage AMSANT purchased mobile phones and associated data plans
- Administration coordination
- Work collaboratively with the Finance team;
- Work with the Risk and Compliance Officer in order to facilitate a safe work place as required, including assisting with the conduct of internal audits;
- Coordinate and place stationery and office supply orders for both offices; and
- Provide administrative support to AMSANT staff and offices as required
Selection Criteria (qualifications And Attributes)
Essential: experience and capability
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting Aboriginal community-controlled organisations and the ability to communicate and work respectfully with Aboriginal people, communities and organisations
- Demonstrated ability to provide responsive, professional and customer-focused support services, with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, stakeholders, contractors and service providers.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating operational functions such as assets, facilities, fleet, logistics, office administration or related services, including the ability to identify practical solutions and respond effectively to organisational needs.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake ICT support activities, including setting up and maintaining laptops, desktops, phones and printers, assisting users with low-level technical issues, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel.
- Demonstrated organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records, coordinate multiple activities, work collaboratively within a team and operate independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and respond appropriately to operational, compliance and workplace health and safety requirements.
Desirable
- Experience in the Aboriginal health sector, government, community services or a peak-body environment.

- Applicants must be able and willing to undertake travel throughout the NT and Interstate (sometimes as a light aircraft passenger) and possess a C class Driver’s Licence.
