Senior Mining Engineer – Underground Planning & Studies

An exciting opportunity to join a Life of Mine Studies team supporting a world-class, large-scale underground copper project progressing through Pre-Feasibility.

This is a technically focused role covering underground mine planning, scheduling, LOM studies and mine design, with exposure to complex caving methods and long-term development strategy.

What you'll be doing

  • Underground mine planning, design and scheduling
  • Life of Mine and long-term planning
  • Developing and optimising schedules using Deswik
  • Supporting Pre-Feasibility and future study phases
  • Evaluating mine sequences, development strategies and alternative scenarios
  • Presenting technical recommendations to key stakeholders
  • Taking ownership of complex technical work

What we're looking for

  • Mining Engineering qualification
  • Strong underground metalliferous mining experience
  • Hands-on mine planning and scheduling experience
  • Strong Deswik, ideally Deswik.Sched and Deswik.CAD
  • LOM / long-term planning exposure
  • Strong technical and stakeholder communication skills

Experience across Scoping, PFS, FS, block caving or SLC would be highly regarded but isn't essential.

This isn't a traditional production-focused position. You'll work on complex, long-term technical challenges with significant autonomy and a clear pathway towards Principal-level responsibility.
