Senior Accountant

A long-standing accounting firm in Newcastle is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team. The firm has built a loyal client following over many years in the region, with a strong mix of manufacturing, agribusiness and professional services clients keeping the work varied and interesting.

There's a settled, experienced team here, several of whom have been with the firm for the better part of a decade, which speaks to the kind of environment leadership has built. This opportunity has come about through natural growth in the client base rather than turnover.

THE ROLE

You'll manage your own portfolio of clients, working closely with a Partner who's known for being generous with their time and knowledge.

• Preparation and review of financial statements and tax returns across multiple entities
• Tax planning and technical advice for clients
• Day to day management of client relationships
• Reviewing work completed by junior team members
• ATO liaison on behalf of clients
• Involvement in advisory conversations as they arise

THE INDIVIDUAL

• CA or CPA qualified, or currently working towards it
• Solid experience as a Senior Accountant within public practice
• Strong technical tax knowledge with the confidence to apply it
• Comfortable reviewing and guiding junior staff
• Well organised with a professional, client-focused approach
