• Join the study team leading the complex restart of our Capricorn Copper mine.
• Lead projects through all phases, from studies through to handover.
• Mentor engineers and project teams to build capability and a high-performance culture.
• Potential for progression as the site moves into operation, with pathways including Superintendent, Project Manager, or other leadership roles.
• Support for further studies, including study leave and short-course financial assistance.

About The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Capricorn Copper operation near Mount Isa in Queensland. This site-based role forms part of the Restart Study Team, reports to the Senior Project Manager and operates on an 8:6 roster.

Your focus will be on providing engineering and project leadership to plan and deliver capital and sustaining projects that support the safe restart and long-term performance of the Capricorn Copper mine.

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include

• Leading the delivery of capital and sustaining projects across the site.
• Providing expert engineering leadership across all project phases to ensure design integrity, constructability, and maintainability.
• Planning and justifying capital projects, including cost estimation, scheduling, and resource planning.
• Managing consultants, contractors, and suppliers to deliver safe, high-quality, and cost-effective outcomes.
• Overseeing project governance, including cost control, reporting, change management, and compliance with safety, site, and corporate standards.
• Mentoring and developing engineers and project teams, while fostering a safety-focused, high-performance culture.

Capricorn Copper is a high-grade underground mine with a strong history of copper and silver production. Its substantial ore reserves and further exploration potential support a mine life of more than 10 years.

Following an extreme weather event, operations were suspended in 2024, but significant investment is underway to support recovery and expansion. The Queensland Government has declared the Capricorn Copper Recovery and Extension Project a prescribed and critical infrastructure project, and a restart feasibility study is now underway. Together, these developments represent significant progress towards a potential return to production.

About The Candidate

Our ideal candidate will have strong project engineering experience, with proven capability to deliver end-to-end projects in mining, minerals processing, infrastructure, or a related heavy industry., * Bachelor's degree (or diploma) in Engineering.

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and mine site infrastructure.
• Experience working across civil, structural, and electrical engineering interfaces.
• Proficiency with engineering and project tools, including AutoCAD, Navisworks, and MS Project.
• C-class manual driver's licence.
