The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced property lawyer to join IFM Investors highly regarded in-house legal team.

Working alongside experienced lawyers and senior business stakeholders, you will advise on a broad and sophisticated portfolio of Australian real estate matters, including some of the market’s most significant property transactions.

Based in IFM Investors’ Sydney office, this is a full-time role offering a flexible hybrid working model.

Key Responsibilities

You will provide commercially focused legal advice across a diverse range of property matters, including:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial and property agreements, including confidentiality, consultancy, minor works and construction agreements.
• Advising on leasing matters, including landlord and tenant issues and disputes.
• Supporting property acquisitions and disposals, capital and co-investment opportunities, and investment mandates.
• Advising stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of significant real estate transactions.
• Maintaining and developing precedents and other legal resources.
• Conducting legal research and providing practical legal training to business teams.

About You

We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded property lawyer who brings:

• 6+ years’ PQE, gained in a leading law firm and/or similar in-house environment.
• Strong experience in transactional commercial property law.
• A proven track record advising on high-value property acquisitions and disposals.
• Strong leasing expertise.
• The ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and provide clear, practical and commercially focused advice.
• A collaborative approach and genuine interest in working as part of a high-performing in-house legal team.
