Alpha TaxAcct provides accounting, taxation, bookkeeping, and compliance support, helping businesses and accounting practices manage their financial workflows efficiently. We work with Australian accounting standards and systems to deliver reliable, quality-focused accounting services.

We are looking for an experienced Tax Accountant with strong knowledge of Australian taxation and accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements, year-end workpapers, and general ledger reviews.
  • Prepare individual, company, trust, and partnership tax returns.
  • Assist with BAS/IAS preparation and related tax compliance activities.
  • Handle FBT, Division 7A, and PAYG reconciliations.
  • Perform bank, account, and other financial reconciliations.
  • Work with accounting software, including Xero, MYOB, HowNow, and Business Fitness workpapers.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Review accounting information for completeness and accuracy.
  • Meet deadlines while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and relevant stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting and taxation experience.
  • Good knowledge of Australian bookkeeping, accounting, and taxation.
  • Practical experience preparing financial statements and tax returns.
  • Knowledge of BAS/IAS preparation, FBT, and Division 7A.
  • Experience with Xero, MYOB, HowNow, and Business Fitness workpapers.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
