Senior Accountant

Six years ago, Desky was a Brisbane startup selling sit-stand desks. Today it has more than 300,000 customers, across Australia, the US, Canada and have recently expanded into Europe. That kind of growth keeps a finance team busy, and now they're looking for a Senior Accountant reporting to the CFO.

What you'll be doing

• Day-to-day accounting: You’ll look after the books across Desky’s Australian and international entities, covering AP, bank transactions, payroll and tax.
• Stock and sales: You’ll get to know how stock and sales flow through the business, keeping platforms in step and helping make sure the Shopify accounts line up at month-end.
• Cash flow: You’ll keep an eye on daily cash and credit card balances, and work with the CFO to keep everything on track.
• Payments: You’ll help prepare the weekly payment run, checking invoices against the paperwork and following up anything that doesn’t quite match.
• Tax: You’ll build hands-on experience across Australian BAS, US sales tax, Canadian GST and European taxes, with support from the CFO.

What we’d love to see in your background

• 3-5 years' accounting experience, ideally in an inventory-based ecommerce or product business
• Exposure to international tax in the US, Canada or Europe
• Advanced Xero skills, and confidence in Excel or Google Sheets (XLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
• Experience using Cin7 Core, or similar
• A real eye for detail, and you enjoy solving problems
