Our client is a leading international law firm with a strong global presence and a Band 1 ranked Competition & Regulatory practice.

The Team

The Competition, Regulation & Trade team advises major Australian and international clients on sophisticated competition, consumer law and regulatory matters across a broad range of industries.

Lawyers within the team benefit from direct Partner access and opportunities to collaborate with specialists across a highly regarded national and international practice.

The Role

An excellent opportunity exists for a Solicitor or Senior Associate (3+ PAE) to join a market-leading Competition & Regulatory practice in Sydney.

Working closely with experienced Competition Partners and a collaborative national team, you will:

  • Advise on complex competition, consumer law and regulatory matters for major domestic and international clients.
  • Assist with merger clearances and advise on regulatory requirements under Australia's merger control regime.
  • Act on cartel and behavioural investigations, competition litigation and regulatory enforcement proceedings.
  • Work directly with clients and regulatory authorities on significant transactions and investigations.
  • Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to client relationships and the ongoing growth of the practice.

About you

Ideally, you will have at least 3 years' post-admission experience gained within a well-regarded Competition & Regulatory practice or relevant Australian regulatory authority.

Additionally, you will have:

  • Strong experience in competition and consumer law, particularly merger clearances and regulatory matters.
  • A sound understanding of Australian competition law and the evolving merger control regime.
  • Excellent legal research, drafting and analytical skills.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach and an interest in emerging regulatory developments and technologies.
