Environmental Compliance Project Officer

Location: Darwin, NT

Reports to: VP Environment, Compliance and Sustainability

Beetaloo Energy is seeking a proactive and skilled Environmental Compliance Officer to join our high-performing team in Darwin. This role is pivotal in supporting our environmental and regulatory obligations across exploration, drilling, and production activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain Environmental and HSE Management Systems.
  • Conduct environmental compliance audits, monitoring activities and environmental risk assessments.
  • Collect, analyse and report environmental data, including greenhouse gas emissions, soil, water and groundwater monitoring results, to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and company standards.
  • Provide environmental and regulatory compliance advice in relation to NT tenement, lease, access, water, waste, dangerous goods, soil and land management obligations.
  • Prepare environmental reports, regulatory submissions and compliance documentation.
  • Liaise with regulators, traditional owners, landholders and key stakeholders regarding environmental monitoring, reporting, compliance obligations and approval requirements.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Conduct environmental auditing, testing and regulatory compliance reporting.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Environmental Science or Engineering.
  • Ideally minimum 5 years’ experience in environmental compliance.
  • Strong understanding of NT petroleum and environmental legislation.
  • Skilled in technical reporting, Microsoft tools, and database management.
  • Ability to travel to remote sites in the Beetaloo sub-basin.
