Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage architectural projects across all phases, from concept design through to construction completion
- Oversee multidisciplinary consultant coordination, including architects, engineers, landscape architects, interior designers, and specialist consultants
- Act as a key client contact, managing relationships and ensuring project objectives, budgets, and timelines are achieved
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams, supporting staff development, performance, and technical growth
- Drive high-quality design outcomes while balancing commercial, programme, and buildability requirements
- Review and oversee design documentation to ensure compliance with project standards, statutory requirements, NCC, and Australian Standards
- Lead project coordination meetings, workshops, and stakeholder presentations
- Manage project programmes, resourcing, and team workflows to ensure efficient project delivery
- Oversee consultant engagement, fee proposals, scope reviews, and contract administration processes
- Support construction phase services, including RFIs, site inspections, defect reviews, shop drawing reviews, and consultant coordination
- Identify and resolve project risks, design conflicts, and programme challenges proactively
- Contribute to business development initiatives, client pitches, fee submissions, and proposal preparation
- Foster strong relationships with clients, contractors, authorities, and industry stakeholders
- Promote innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement in design and delivery processes
- Support studio leadership in strategic planning, operational management, and team culture initiatives
- Maintain strong awareness of planning pathways, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard of design and technical quality
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or related discipline
- Registered Architect preferred (ARB registration or equivalent)
- 8+ years’ experience within architectural practice, with exposure to complex project delivery
- Proven experience leading projects across multiple stages, from concept through to construction
- Strong understanding of planning pathways, NCC, Australian Standards, and statutory approval processes
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary consultant teams and stakeholder coordination
- Strong technical documentation and construction delivery capability
- Experience across large-scale residential, mixed-use, commercial, hospitality, education, or civic projects preferred
- Proficiency in Revit and strong understanding of BIM workflows and coordination processes
- Strong client management, communication, and presentation skills
- Proven leadership and team management experience, including mentoring junior staff
- Commercial awareness with experience managing project programmes, budgets, and resourcing
- Strong problem-solving capability with the ability to manage competing project priorities
- Experience coordinating construction phase services, RFIs, site inspections, and contract administration activities
