As we continue to grow, we're looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Office Administrator to join our Newcastle office and keep our operations running smoothly behind the scenes.

Role Description

This is a varied, hands-on position sitting at the heart of our office. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day financial administration and general office management — from keeping our books in order to being the friendly first point of contact when clients and contractors call.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile invoices and project costings accurately and on time
  • Prepare and issue invoices to clients and subcontractors
  • Process weekly/fortnightly payroll and maintain employee records
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Answer and direct incoming calls, handling enquiries professionally
  • Provide general administrative support to management and site teams
  • Maintain organised filing systems — digital and physical
  • Liaise with our accountant/bookkeeper as required

What we are looking for

  • Experience in bookkeeping or accounts administration
  • Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, or similar accounting software
  • Understanding of payroll processes and obligations
  • Construction or trade industry experience (highly regarded)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent phone manner and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise in a busy office
  • Cert IV in Bookkeeping / Accounting (advantageous)
