DevOps Engineer

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing federal government technology environment supporting critical enterprise platforms and applications.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a modern infrastructure and platform engineering team responsible for delivering secure, scalable and automated technology solutions across complex ICT environments.

The successful candidate will work closely with development, product and delivery teams to support application deployments, platform operations and continuous improvement initiatives across the software delivery lifecycle.

Locations available include ACT and NSW with hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

As a DevOps Engineer, you will:

  • Support the deployment, management and optimisation of enterprise platforms and applications

  • Work collaboratively with development and product teams across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions

  • Build and maintain automated CI/CD deployment pipelines

  • Deploy and manage Kubernetes-based platforms and applications

  • Monitor, patch and maintain foundational infrastructure and services

  • Support secure platform operations within protected enterprise environments

  • Contribute to system reliability, scalability and operational efficiency

  • Participate in BAU support activities and production deployments

  • Work closely with Agile delivery teams to enable continuous delivery practices

Required Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in:

  • Infrastructure as Code deployments within Kubernetes environments

  • Kubernetes platform deployment and administration

  • Strong Ansible automation skills

  • Git source control and version management

  • Linux administration, ideally Ubuntu environments

  • CI/CD tooling and automation practices

  • Working within Agile and DevOps delivery environments

  • Jira and Confluence for work management and collaboration

  • Secure systems administration and operational support

Highly Desirable

Experience with any of the following technologies will be highly regarded:

  • Kustomize

  • Kubespray

  • Apache Proxy with mod_security

  • ForgeRock OpenAM / IDM / DS

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

Working Arrangements

  • Hybrid working model

  • Minimum onsite attendance requirements apply

  • Additional onsite attendance may be required based on operational needs

Security Clearance

Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance.

Contract Details

  • Initial 12-month contract

  • Extension option available

  • Full-time engagement
