An opportunity has arisen for a seasoned finance professional to join a leading organisation within the aviation sector on a 3–6 month contract, with strong potential to transition into a longer‑term or permanent position. Based at the Brisbane Airport, this role will suit a commercially minded accountant with strong costing and analytical capability, who can hit the ground running and deliver high‑quality insights in a fast‑paced environment.

Your new role

This is a highly hands‑on, commercially focused role working closely with senior leadership to drive improved financial outcomes across existing operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and analysing cost structures and profitability across customer contracts and operations
• Building and refining costing models to support commercial decision‑making
• Identifying opportunities to improve margins and optimise performance
• Partnering with senior stakeholders, including executive leadership, to deliver clear financial insights
• Working with financial data to produce accurate, timely and actionable analysis
• Delivering work within tight timeframes in a short‑term, high‑impact engagement

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience in cost accounting, financial analysis or commercial finance roles
• Strong Excel and financial modelling capability
• Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver under pressure
• Experience within aviation, transport or similar industries is advantageous but not essential
