Talent Insights is partnering with a large enterprise organisation currently seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a high-performing data team on an initial 12-month day rate contract.

This role will suit a strong hands-on engineer with deep SQL expertise, proven experience working within large-scale Teradata data warehouse environments, and exposure to broader data architecture and solution design responsibilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, optimising and delivering scalable data solutions supporting critical business and analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise complex SQL-based data pipelines and transformations
• Work across large enterprise Teradata DWH environments
• Develop and maintain scalable data models supporting analytics and reporting use cases
• Contribute to data architecture decisions, including solution design, data flow and platform optimisation
• Support the evolution of enterprise data architecture standards and best practices
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, analysts, architects and engineering teams
• Improve performance, data quality and reliability across existing data platforms
• Contribute to broader cloud and data modernisation initiatives where applicable

Required Experience

• Extensive experience as a Data Engineer within enterprise-scale environments
• Strong SQL development and performance tuning capabilities
• Proven experience with Teradata data warehousing
• Strong data modelling experience (dimensional and/or enterprise modelling)
• Exposure to data architecture, solution design or platform design responsibilities
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Bonus Points For:

• Exposure to AWS cloud technologies
• Python development experience
• Experience working across cloud migration or modern data platform initiatives
• Exposure to orchestration, automation or transformation tooling
