Position Overview
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Platform Operations Engineer to support critical cloud-based platforms and external client-facing applications operating in highly available production environments. This role plays an important part in ensuring the stability, security, scalability, and reliability of enterprise systems supporting large-scale digital services.
Working within a collaborative operations environment, you will contribute to the ongoing management, support, monitoring, and continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure and operational processes. The position requires strong technical capability, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced and high-pressure environments while engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Key Duties
- Manage and support applications and infrastructure hosted within AWS Cloud environments
- Perform operational maintenance activities including health checks, certificate renewals, patching, upgrades, and scheduled maintenance
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve high-severity incidents across production and testing environments
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions for recurring operational issues
- Maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities to support system availability and performance
- Support governance, audit, and reporting activities for technical and business stakeholders
- Review and remediate security findings and vulnerabilities identified through security scanning tools
- Participate in deployment, release, and change management activities
- Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, procedures, and knowledge-sharing resources
Skills And Experience Required
- Demonstrated experience working with AWS technologies including EC2, CloudWatch, Lambda, and S3
- Strong technical knowledge across infrastructure, networking, database, and security technologies
- Experience administering Windows and Linux operating systems, preferably RedHat Enterprise Linux
- Scripting and automation capability using tools and languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or AWS CLI
- Experience with monitoring tools, ITSM platforms, and workflow management systems including Splunk, ServiceNow, and Azure DevOps
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within operational and delivery-focused teams
- Current Baseline Security Clearance is mandatory
