Environmental Consultant
Era Advisory
Era Advisory is looking for an Environmental Consultant to join our team of environmental and planning approval specialists.
This is a role for someone with approximately five years of experience who wants to take on a new challenge and do meaningful work with likeminded colleagues and clients. You'll be part of a cross-disciplinary team of planners, scientists, and communicators working on projects that shape Tasmania's future.
We're a values-led consultancy. We navigate complexity with clarity and integrity, and we hold ourselves to a high standard. If that resonates, read on.
What you'll do:
- Assist in the preparation of environmental impact assessments and reserve activity assessments to a range of sectors and project types
- Assist in environmental assessments and approvals under Tasmanian and Commonwealth legislation
- Provide clear, well-reasoned environmental advice to clients, regulators, and project teams
- Work collaboratively across our approvals, policy, engagement, and strategy teams to deliver integrated project outcomes
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to the growth of the business
- Contribute to a positive, supportive team culture
What you'll bring:
- A relevant degree in environmental science or a related science discipline
- Around five years' experience in environmental consulting or a comparable role
- Sound knowledge of Tasmanian and Commonwealth environmental legislation and approval pathways
- Strong technical writing skills and the ability to distil complex information into clear, practical advice
- A collaborative mindset, a genuine curiosity about your work, and a commitment to quality
What we offer:
- A healthy, flexible workplace where people can thrive — at work and in life
- The opportunity to work on projects that matter, with a team that genuinely cares about outcomes
- Professional development support, mentoring, and real career progression
- A culture built on integrity, collaboration, curiosity, and respect
- A competitive salary package to be negotiated with the successful candidate
- Support for relocation to Hobart and consideration of remote work options
We don't just work in Tasmania — we shape it. If you're ready to be part of that, we'd love to hear from you.
