Test Lead

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity within a Queensland Government environment for a Test Lead / Test Manager (Finance transformation) to support a major ERP uplift from SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA.

You’ll work closely with finance stakeholders, ICT delivery teams, and implementation partners to ensure the upgraded S/4HANA solution is thoroughly validated, audit-ready, and fit for purpose, supporting improved governance, financial reporting, and operational outcomes. This role is Brisbane CBD based and suits someone who enjoys combining hands-on testing delivery with strong stakeholder engagement in a structured project environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the test strategy, test plan, and test approach for the finance workstream
• Develop and manage test scripts, execute testing, and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Lead defect management activities (triage, prioritisation, retest coordination) from a finance perspective
• Build and maintain a requirements-to-test traceability matrix through to go-live
• Support configuration reviews, finance process validation, and business process re-engineering activities
• Contribute to data migration support (data mapping, cleansing, validation, reconciliation)
• Participate in solution workshops/walkthroughs to confirm finance requirements are correctly understood and implemented
• Maintain clear, auditable testing artefacts aligned to Queensland Government project governance
• Identify, track, and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies where required

Skills and Experience (Must Have)

• Demonstrated experience leading and/or delivering testing across SAP ECC6 and SAP S/4HANA environments (including integrated/ancillary systems)
• Strong hands-on capability in test planning, test execution, UAT coordination, and defect management
• Proven experience building and maintaining a traceability matrix from requirements through to go-live
• Strong understanding of finance processes and controls, ideally in a government or highly regulated environment (e.g., GL, AP/AR, budgeting, reporting, asset management, chart of accounts, funds management)
• Working knowledge of SAP FI/CO and awareness of S/4HANA capabilities (e.g., Universal Journal, Fiori)
• Experience on large-scale SAP programs (finance transformation preferred)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into actionable testing outcomes
• Confident stakeholder engagement and communication across delivery teams and business SMEs
• Experience using tools such as JIRA and/or Confluence for testing documentation and tracking

Desirable Criteria (Nice to Have)

• Experience with S/4HANA fit-to-standard approaches and process alignment
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or similar
• SAP certification (any relevant stream)
