Primary objective

Develop and implement policy, programs and projects for the Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) Reduction Division,

including primary prevention, early intervention, programs for people who use domestic and family violence, response, recovery

and healing, and systemic enablers and reform coordination.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Contribute to the implementation of the Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Reduction Framework.

2. Develop and implement domestic, family, and sexual violence programs, projects, policies, and procedures, and undertake

research and analysis to ensure good practice policy and evidence-based program implementation.

3. Cultivate strong, effective relationships with regional, intergovernmental, and non-government stakeholders, to encourage

meaningful communication and input in the development and implementation of domestic, family, and sexual violence policies

and programs.

4. Coordinate and prepare complex documents including Ministerial briefings and reports that provide information and advice on

domestic, family, and sexual violence reduction policies and programs.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Excellent writing skills, including ability to research and prepare a range of high-quality written material including policies and

procedures, reports, and correspondence, such as Ministerial briefings and Cabinet submissions.

2. Highly developed analytical, advisory, and research skills.

3. Excellent project management skills including planning, executing and closing projects. Key competencies include risk

management, proactive problem solving, initiative and clear communication among stakeholders.

4. Well-developed relationship management skills including the ability to develop and manage strong collaborative partnerships

with a diverse range of government, non-government, and community stakeholders.

5. Expertise in the prevention of and response to DFSV, particularly in the context of the Northern Territory, and an understanding

of national and international policies, trends, and initiatives.

6. Understanding of diverse cultural perspectives related to domestic, family, and sexual violence, particularly in relation to

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.

Desirable

1. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.

2. Northern Territory drivers’ licence or ability to obtain.

3. Ability to travel, within the Territory (including remote communities) and interstate, as required.
