You will be working for a government agency based in Sydney CBD.

Your new role

Your role is to design, build, and own the core Linux platforms underpinning critical digital services within a secure, on-premises environment. This is a high-impact, hands-on engineering role suited to someone who combines deep Linux expertise with strong technical judgement, an automation-first mindset, and the ability to lead platform modernisation initiatives from design through to delivery.

What you'll need to succeed

• Has deep expertise across Ubuntu (preferred) and/or RHEL environments
• Thrives in designing solutions rather than following predefined processes
• Brings strong knowledge of:
  • Linux system internals
  • Security hardening frameworks
  • Automation and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible)
• Has experience managing large-scale, enterprise Linux environments
