Senior Bookkeeper / Assistant Accountant | Short-Term Contract | Immediate

Start We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper / Assistant Accountant to join a well-established and fast-paced organisation within the civil construction industry. This is an excellent short-term contract opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and can hit the ground running.

Position Overview

• Title: Senior Bookkeeper / Assistant Accountant
• Industry: Civil Construction
• Duration: 2-3 months
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (38 hours per week, flexible arrangement)
• Hourly Rate: $35 - $42 per hour (including casual loading)
• Location: Margate
• Strong potential opportunity to transition into a permanent full-time role based on performance and business needs

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
• Process payroll accurately and in line with compliance requirements
• Handle invoicing, billing, and related financial administration
• Perform bank and account reconciliations
• Support month-end reporting and general bookkeeping tasks

Requirements

• Advanced MYOB experience (4-5 years preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
• Previous experience in construction or civil industry highly regarded but not essential
• Strong communication and time management skills
