About The Role
We’re seeking a dedicated Chef to join our aged care team and deliver fresh, nutritious, and comforting meals that brighten our residents’ days. As our Aged Care Chef, you’ll be at the helm of kitchen operations planning and preparing meals that meet a range of dietary needs while maintaining the highest standards in hygiene, food safety, and service delivery.
Responsibilities
You’ll collaborate with hospitality staff, dietitians, and care teams to craft meals that are nourishing, well-presented, and tailored to our residents’ preferences and health requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of nutritious home-style foods for our guests
- Cater for special diets including texture modified & supplements
- Forming and maintaining relationships with all stakeholders, residents and their families, staff and suppliers
- Ensuring all compliance obligations are met, safe food practices, WH&S and cooking for vulnerable persons
- Maintaining adequate standards of hygiene and tidiness in the kitchen and maintaining supplies
What You Will Bring
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
- Experience in aged care, healthcare, or large-scale food service
- Food Safety Supervisor Certification
- Sound knowledge of dietary needs and modified textures
- A flair for preparing homestyle meals with care and creativity
