Key purpose of the role
This specialist role has been created to work within the current cyber security operations team and will primarily be responsible for the monitoring and analysis of security events, investigating and responding to security incidents, and the monitoring, assessment and practical application of threat intelligence
Your Team
The Security Operations Centre is responsible for security monitoring, incident response and computer forensics across the ASX environment. We also conduct regular security testing including vulnerability scanning, phishing simulations and red and purple team testing.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform initial analysis of security events and incidents to determine the root cause, impact, and appropriate remediation actions
- Conduct proactive threat hunting activities to identify potential security threats to ASX systems and networks.
- Perform in-depth analysis of security events, incidents, and breaches to determine the root cause, impact, and appropriate
- remediation actions.
- Conduct incident response activities including containment, eradication, and recovery, to minimize the impact of security
- Incidents
- Gather and analyse threat intelligence from various sources to identify emerging trends, new attack vectors, and potential
- risks to ASX
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and enhance strategies, tools, and procedures to aid in threat detection and response capabilities
- Enhance and manage the security documentation suite (e.g. policies, procedures, metrics, use cases and playbooks
- Stay well-informed latest cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to continually improve the ASX's security posture
Your Experience And Qualifications
Must have
- Worked within a security operations centre environment
- Exposure to industry standard security frameworks (e.g. NIST, ASD, Swift CSP)
- Assessment and investigation of security alerts (e.g. SIEM alerts, phishing emails etc.)
- Exposure to security tools configuration management (e.g. SIEM, EDR, TIP, Email Security, Proxy etc)
- Familiarity with operating systems including Windows, Linux
- Understanding of Networking concepts and terminology
- Exposure to cloud-based technologies
- Development of security related documentation (policies, procedures, standards)
Nice to have
- IT degree with a focus on IT Security
- Certifications such as GCFA, GCFR, GCTI, GCIH
- Familiarity with a scripting language such as Python or PowerShell
