Kidney Supportive Care (KSC) involves an interdisciplinary approach that integrates the skills of renal medicine and palliative care to help patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) to live as well as possible by managing their symptoms and supporting them in living with advanced disease. It is embedded in usual renal care. It also encompasses advance care planning and end-of-life care. The Kidney Supportive Care Staff Specialist will provide specialist outpatient and inpatient consultative support district wide in ISLHD as well as participate in the Renal Service After Hours Roster.

Wollongong Hospital, located on Dharawal Country, is the Illawarra Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed-base count of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.
