About the Position

We are excited to welcome a Therapist to our Townsville Functional Family Therapy team! Join a passionate team delivering Functional Family Therapy – Therapeutic Case Management (FFT-TCM), an evidence-based model that supports families in their homes to create safer, stronger relationships.

In this role, you’ll work alongside families to uncover what drives behaviour, build on their strengths, and equip them with practical skills to navigate challenges long after your intervention. With high-quality training, ongoing coaching, and clinical supervision, you’ll be supported to deliver the model with confidence while continually growing your therapeutic expertise.

  • Level 5 SCHCADS Award.
  • Salary range: $100,784 - $105,350 + Superannuation.
  • Full-time, parental leave backfill opportunity until 01 July 2027.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based FFT-TCM therapy in the home, helping families reduce risk and build safer, healthier relationships.
  • Engage and motivate families to reflect on behaviours, strengthen connections, and adopt new ways of interacting.
  • Complete structured assessments and maintain a caseload, ensuring timely reporting, accurate records, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Commit to continuous learning and clinical excellence by actively participating in supervision, training, and fidelity-driven practice.

About You

  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification (allied health, social work, human services) with professional registration (if required) and, a membership in a professional association (desirable).
  • Ability to gain and maintain accreditation in the FFT-TCM model.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience providing case-management and/or therapeutic services to families, caregivers, young people and children in a child protection framework.
  • Availability to work flexible hours to accommodate client families’ availability, including occasional work outside standard business hours.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required), including holding or obtaining required checks (Working with Children Check or professional exemption).
  • Current driver’s licence.
