What you'll be doing

As a Registered Nurse within Cardiac Rehabilitation, you will provide comprehensive nursing care and rehabilitation support to patients referred to the program. You will play a key role in patient assessment, education, exercise prescription and ongoing care coordination to support recovery and self-management.

  • Assess, manage and support patients throughout their rehabilitation journey
  • Deliver education, counselling and self-management strategies to patients and families
  • Conduct exercise assessments, testing and tailored exercise prescription
  • Coordinate referrals and communicate with GPs, cardiologists and allied health providers
  • Promote patient participation and reduce barriers to accessing rehabilitation services

Essential Criteria

  • License: Current Class A

  • Qualification: Post grad qualifications in cardiology/cardiothoracic

  • Registration: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated relevant and extensive clinical nursing experience as deemed appropriate by WSLHD

  • Demonstrated competency in Advanced Life Support and ECG/Rhythm analysis

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a small team environment

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement through active participation in continuous quality improvement activities

  • Cultural awareness of population needs/Diverse Language skills is desirable

  • Experience of previously working in cardiac rehabilitation is an advantage

  • Willing to join professional association/attend CR clinician certification
