MSP Environment | Career Pathway into Level 2 Engineering
You are joining a Managed Service Provider supporting Australian businesses across professional services, finance, and regulated industries.
Working across customers in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, you will gain exposure to modern Microsoft environments with a strong focus on security, compliance, and best practice IT operations.
This is not a basic password reset helpdesk role.
You will be supporting multiple customer environments, resolving technical issues, managing Microsoft cloud services, and developing your skills across Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, Azure, and security technologies.
Day to day reality
- You start your day reviewing customer tickets, prioritising issues, and working through technical problems across different client environments.
- You could be troubleshooting Microsoft 365 access issues, Exchange Online problems, Teams or SharePoint queries, or supporting users across Windows environments.
- You will work with Intune to help manage devices, support device enrolments, assist with configuration policies, and deploy applications.
- You will support identity and access management within Entra ID, including user administration, groups, MFA, and basic Conditional Access troubleshooting.
- You will gain exposure to endpoint security technologies including Microsoft Defender while working alongside senior engineers on more complex issues.
- Some days will involve onsite customer visits across Sydney, assisting with onboarding, device setups, troubleshooting, and small infrastructure changes.
- You will own your tickets from start to finish, document your work properly, and escalate when needed while continuing to develop technically.
What you will be doing
- Supporting Microsoft 365 environments including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive
- User and identity administration across Entra ID and Active Directory environments
- Endpoint support and management through Microsoft Intune
- Device enrolment, configuration support, and application deployment
- Assisting with Autopilot and modern workplace environments
- Supporting Microsoft Defender security technologies
- Troubleshooting Windows desktop and general IT issues
- Basic networking troubleshooting across connectivity, WiFi, and firewall related issues
- Working within PSA and documentation platforms
- Supporting customer onboarding and occasional onsite requirements
- Escalating advanced issues while learning from senior engineers

What we are looking for
- 2+ year experience within an MSP, IT service provider, or internal IT support environment
- Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience
- Exposure to Intune and modern endpoint management
- Understanding of Entra ID, users, groups, and access management
- Good troubleshooting ability across Windows environments
- Experience managing tickets and following IT processes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to support customers directly
- Willingness to continue developing across Microsoft cloud and security technologies
- Australian working rights
- Sydney based with ability to attend customer sites when required
Nice to have
- Microsoft certifications such as MS-900, AZ-900, MD-102, or SC-300
- Exposure to Azure services
- Basic PowerShell scripting
- Experience with FortiGate or security tooling
- Understanding of Essential Eight or ISO 27001 environments
- Previous MSP experience
