Most media trading roles are focused on buying inventory. This role is focused on creating competitive advantage.
Our client is a fast-growing independent agency that is challenging traditional media buying models through a combination of commercial rigour, experimentation, technology and first-principles thinking.
As they continue to scale, they are seeking an experienced Media Investment Lead to own and evolve their trading function across television, BVOD, radio, audio, outdoor, digital display and strategic partnerships.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will be responsible for developing trading strategy, leading negotiations with media owners and ensuring every investment decision delivers measurable commercial value for clients.
This is an opportunity to build something rather than inherit it.
You will help establish benchmarking standards, identify market inefficiencies, develop experimentation frameworks and contribute directly to agency growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead trading and negotiation strategy across TV, BVOD, Radio, Audio, OOH, Display and Partnerships
- Develop and maintain robust benchmarking frameworks across all media channels
- Build on your senior relationships with major media owners and sales teams
- Identify commercial opportunities and trading advantages others miss
- Ensure campaign delivery, pacing, billing accuracy and commercial outcomes are achieved
- Drive innovation and experimentation across media investment strategies
- Contribute to quarterly business reviews and commercial performance reporting
- Build, mentor and develop trading capability within the agency
About You
You are likely to bring:
- At least 6+ years' experience in media investment, buying or trading
- Strong commercial negotiation skills across multiple ATL channels
- Experience leading complex trading discussions with major media owners
- A deep understanding of media value, benchmarking and investment strategy
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability
- Team leadership experience
- The ability to challenge conventional thinking and defend recommendations with confidence
