Osborne Richardson has been a trusted partner to Queensland Government departments for years, and we're delighted to be helping QBuild find a cracking WHS Training Advisor to join their Learning & Development team — right in the heart of Brisbane CBD.
QBuild takes pride in delivering infrastructure solutions for Queenslanders, and safety sits at the heart of everything they do. Their L&D team is leading the rollout of a brand-new Safety Management System (SMS), and they need an experienced Training Advisor to help bring it to life across a geographically diverse, trade-based workforce. A meaty six-month gig with possible extension — a real opportunity to leave your fingerprints on something that genuinely matters.
What you'll be working on
- Developing a comprehensive WHS training plan covering mandatory and optional programs, tailored to regional priorities
- Reviewing and aligning existing training with the updated SMS and minimum competency standards
- Creating centralised administrative and record-keeping processes
- Consulting on the implementation of a new WHS training and competency management standard, including induction processes and verification of competency programs
- Making complex compliance feel simple and practical for a trade-based audience
What you'll bring (essential criteria)
- An established career in Learning & Development with strong instructional design credentials
- Expertise designing comprehensive training programs that translate complex content into simple, practical learning
- Solid understanding of WHS legislative training requirements and their real-world application
- Proven ability to tailor learning solutions for a trade-based audience
- Strong collaboration skills and experience coordinating processes across a geographically diverse network
- A curious, investigative approach — comfortable navigating a complex organisation to seek out the info you need
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication, with sound judgement and a customer-focused mindset
Highly desirable: Experience in workplace health and safety, compliance, and navigating complex legislative frameworks to design training plans.
What's on offer
- Rate: $79.17/hour + super
- Location: AM60 Building, 42-60 Albert Street, Brisbane CBD — right in our home patch
- Contract: 22 June 2026 through to 21 December 2026, with extension extremely likely.
