Vero SME products serve Small to Medium Businesses ranging from micro-business to mid-size corporates through a packaged product. Coverages include Fire, Liability, Business Interruption, Theft, Money, Glass, GIT, Management Liability, Tax audit and others. These products are distributed via digital platforms managed by Vero and broker’s (e.g., Steadfast’s SCTP, ENVEST Marketplace etc) under both the Vero brand and specific broker products.

The purpose of this role is to act as a subject matter expert for product and policy documentation across Vero SME Package products. The role is accountable for the drafting, review and maintenance of policy wordings, PDSs, endorsements and related collateral to meet customer needs and ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, reinsurance and internal governance requirements.

What You’ll Do

The role works closely with Product Managers and the Portfolio U\W Manager to:

  • Coordinate product development and review with key stakeholders including Claims, Underwriting, Legal, Reinsurance, Risk and Distribution
  • Ensure alignment and consistency of wording intent across comparable products
  • Deliver refreshed and updated documentation within agreed timeframes
  • Maintain strong product governance in line with Suncorp standards and the external regulatory environment
  • Support the Product Manager in delivering product strategies through the development, update and maintenance of product documentation
  • Contribute to both project-based initiatives (including regulatory and reinsurance programs) and business-as-usual activities, such as wording updates and new wording development.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience working in General Insurance policy wording and PDS development and/or General Insurance legal experience (required);
  • Technical background across a range of General Insurance products (preferred)
  • Experience in General Insurance Technical Claims or Underwriting (preferred)
  • Strong insurance policy wording and drafting skills, including the ability to write in plain language and undertake detailed editing and review
  • Sound commercial judgement and decision making within delegated authority
  • Ability to manage complex issues and effectively influence internal and external stakeholders, including brokers.
