Jones Day

Date: 20 hours ago
City: Brisbane, Queensland
Contract type: Full time

Jones Day is one of the world's largest and most geographically diverse law firms, with a true "one firm worldwide" philosophy. Unlike many global firms, Jones Day operates as a single, integrated partnership rather than a collection of separate profit centres. This structure fosters genuine collaboration across offices and practice groups, giving our lawyers access to international expertise and resources that few firms can match.

With offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, our Australian teams work on high-profile, cross-border matters across corporate, disputes, energy, real estate, employment, IP, financial markets and tax law.

Our role

Our Brisbane office is seeking a general commercial litigator with 3-5 years of experience who is keen to work on some of the largest and most complex litigation matters in Australia and internationally. While this role sits in our Brisbane office, you will be joining an integrated Global Disputes team which will involve working closely with colleagues across our global network.

In this role you will work across an array of high-value, complex litigation matters which span a mix of practice areas including construction disputes, shareholder and joint venture disputes and post-M&A / private equity disputes across industries including e nergy and resources, oil & gas, and technology.

About you

In addition to strong academics and solid commercial litigation experience gained at a top-tier or leading mid-tier firm, you will be:

  • Confident working with clients and colleagues across the Firm
  • Motivated to deliver high-quality work across jurisdictions and time zones on complex, high-value international disputes
  • A clear and effective communicator, able to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Curious and innovative, with an interest in AI and emerging technologies
  • Committed to supporting and mentoring junior lawyers

You will also be admitted to practise in Australia or New Zealand.

What makes us different?

The collegiality and seamless teamwork of the Global Disputes practice ensures that our clients receive the best disputes service in all markets around the world.

Jones Day is also committed to the professional development of its lawyers. We invest heavily in training, mentorship, and providing early responsibility to junior and mid-level Associates. Our culture is collaborative rather than competitive, and we take pride in fostering long-term careers built on meaningful work.
