QSE Project Advisor (Site-Based)

Freyssinet Australia is seeking a proactive and experienced QSE Project Advisor to support the delivery of safe, high-quality remedial projects across NSW. This is a predominantly site-based role (approx. 90% on-site), ideal for someone who thrives in the field, enjoys mentoring teams face-to-face, and is passionate about making work sites safer and more efficient.

About the Role

As a QSE Project Advisor, you will be a visible and hands-on presence across project sites, working closely with frontline teams to embed a strong Quality, Safety, and Environmental (QSE) culture.

You will focus on real-time risk identification, coaching, and practical support, ensuring critical controls are implemented effectively and consistently across all phases of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site-Based Leadership & Engagement ( 90% on site)

    • Maintain a strong on-site presence, actively engaging with supervisors, workers, and subcontractors.

    • Provide real-time QSE advice and support during live works.

    • Lead by example to drive safe behaviours and high-quality outcomes.

  • QSE Implementation & Oversight

    • Implement and execute QSE strategies, frameworks, and critical control management across projects.

    • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.

    • Ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.

  • Coaching & Mentoring

    • Build strong relationships with site teams to provide practical guidance and mentoring.

    • Deliver toolbox talks, site briefings, and targeted training.

    • Support leaders to strengthen QSE ownership and accountability.

  • Incident Management & Improvement

    • Lead internal investigations (e.g., iCam) and identify root causes.

    • Recommend and track corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

    • Identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives on site.

  • Reporting & Administration

    • Maintain QSE administrative processes and documentation.

    • Develop OHS and QSE performance reports with actionable site-level insights.

    • Use data to support proactive risk management and decision-making.

  • Technical Problem Solving

    • Apply technical expertise to complex, high-risk site scenarios.

    • Support safe work practices in environments involving heights, access systems, and multiple contractors.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction or similar project-based environments.

  • Strong exposure to site-based operations and high-risk activities.

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety (or equivalent).

Desirable

  • Experience in building remediation, cladding, or maintenance.

  • Exposure to high-risk work environments (heights, scaffolding, mast climbers, swing stages).

  • Experience working closely with subcontractors on active sites.

Skills & Capabilities

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence on site

  • Proven ability to build relationships with frontline teams

  • Practical, solutions-focused approach to risk management

  • Strong planning and organisational skills

  • Ability to analyse information and implement fit-for-purpose solutions

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications

  • Solid understanding of how QSE integrates into daily operations
