Property Optimisation Specialist
MidCoast Council
Are you looking for the right career and lifestyle move? Do you want to make an impact on the future of the community you live in? Here's your opportunity to kick a career goal while you enjoy an incredible lifestyle on the beautiful Barrington Coast.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Property Optimisation Specialist to join Council on a 21-month fixed term. This is a hands-on role focused on taking a practical look at our property portfolio to deliver stronger, more sustainable value for the community. You'll lead the development of a property portfolio strategy, assess opportunities across Council-owned land and assets, and turn insights into well-structured business cases that support sound decision-making. You'll work closely with legal, finance and asset teams to progress development, leasing and investment opportunities, while also making sure existing income-generating properties are performing as they should.
Council owns a diverse range of property that supports services and holds real potential for smarter use and stronger returns. Right now, that work is spread across teams, which makes it harder to take a consistent, strategic view. This role brings that focus. You'll undertake feasibility and option analysis, help structure property deals and partnerships, and oversee priority projects from concept through to delivery. You'll also provide advice to senior staff and governance groups, ensuring proposals stack up commercially and financially.
We're looking for someone with solid experience in property, finance or development who can cut through complexity and get to what makes sense. You'll be comfortable with financial modelling, feasibility analysis and business case development, and have a good grasp of how property projects come together, from funding through to delivery. Strong communication skills and the ability to work across teams and bring people along with you will be essential to building alignment and delivering results. Local government experience is preferred, along with the ability to manage your time, juggle priorities and keep things moving. If you're practical, commercially minded and motivated to deliver real outcomes, we'd love to hear from you!
