Redland City Council is seeking a talented Group Support Coordinator to drive administrative excellence and innovation across our organisation. The City Assets Group plays a critical role in shaping the city’s infrastructure, leading strategy, management, and project planning across key areas, including Civil and Traffic, Civic and Open Spaces, Marine, Water and Wastewater, and Waste Infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include
- Administrative Excellence: Provide high-level administrative and financial support, ensuring smooth coordination of processes and initiatives to meet Group, Department, and Organisational objectives.
- Project Management: Assist with project management by researching, analysing, interpreting, and presenting information to support the development and implementation of key projects.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including officers from the CEO and Mayors' offices, ensuring effective communication and problem-solving.
- Financial Management: Contribute to budget preparation, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting, supporting the Group’s financial responsibilities.
- Process Improvement: Lead business improvement projects, developing standard operating procedures to ensure audit compliance and service delivery excellence.
- Mentoring: Although no direct reports you will mentor and inspire Business Support Officers and Administration Trainees, creating an attractive, rewarding workplace.
Skills and experience
- Interpersonal and Relationship Building Skills: Highly developed communication and liaison skills will be crucial. You will work closely with the office of the General Manager, fostering strong, collaborative relationships.
- Networking Skills: You will be adept at navigating the organisation, building networks quickly and effectively. This includes inquiries from the office of the CEO and Mayor, with ease and professionalism.
- Initiative: Your proactive approach will be essential in solving problems and driving improvements, demonstrating a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
- Adaptability: Your flexibility and adaptability in managing various tasks and challenges will ensure that the Group operates smoothly and efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Your excellent oral and written communication skills will enable you to convey information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: You will have strong problem-solving skills, allowing you to address and resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Your meticulous attention to detail will ensure that all administrative and financial tasks are performed accurately and to a high standard.
- Confidentiality: You will handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and integrity, maintaining trust and professionalism at all times.
