Details: The ACT Ambulance Service (ACTAS) is seeking a skilled, motivated, and detail orientated person to join the ACTAS Clinical Governance Unit (CGU) as an Infection Prevention and Control Manager (IPCM).
This dynamic and challenging role will provide subject matter expertise in infection prevention and control in the ambulance setting, through the ongoing development and management of an infection prevention and control program for ACTAS. As a subject matter expert, you will work collaboratively with a small team of energetic professionals to meet our commitment to patient centred, best-practice care and service delivery to the community.
The ideal candidate will provide expert advice on appropriate infection control to ACTAS Executive and staff; and be comfortable conducting infection prevention and control audits on vehicles, equipment and facilities.

Eligibility/Other requirements
All expenses associated with obtaining and providing required supporting documentation annotated by ** will be met by the applicant. These costs will not be met by ACTAS nor reimbursed at any time during the process.
- Current registration as a paramedic (without conditions or notations) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).
- Current Authority to practice at a minimum of Ambulance Paramedic level with a minimum 3 years’ experience post authority to practice with a statutory ambulance service.
- Experience in providing infection prevention and control services in a jurisdictional ambulance setting is highly desirable.
- **Driver’s licence Class ‘C’ is essential.

- This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People registration check.
- To be eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or hold a valid work visa.
- If an officer no longer holds a visa that permits them to work in Australia, their employment with the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) will be terminated.
All candidates, at the time of application, must complete the following documentation relating to vaccination requirements for Category A/EPP roles.

- ACT Government/ACTAS Tuberculosis (TB) Assessment Tool (found in attached Documents).
- The commencement of successful candidates will be subject to compliance with vaccination requirements applicable to their role.
- In addition to meeting the above requirements, candidates applying for Category A/EPP roles (such as Flight Paramedics) are also required to know their Blood Borne Virus (BBV) status and be prepared for testing for the Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), the Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) and the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) at least one every three years, as set out in the Australian national guidelines for the management of healthcare workers living with, or exposed to, blood-borne viruses.

Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
